StepNpull™ was invented by 3 men in Springfield Missouri.

Hi, my name is Mike and I'm glad you're taking the time to learn more about the inventors.  I'm currently  employed by a major wireless carrier, my office is in Springfield Missouri.  I've been with the company a little over 16 years and have served as the network operations manager for the last 6 years.  My team is responsible for maintaining 200+ cell sites in the State of Missouri covering 20k+ square miles.  I play a secondary role as building facility manager for our administration office and call center.  I've noticed over the last several years an elevated concern among the general population about coming in contact with public restroom door handles.  It's very common place to see men and women use a paper towel when exiting the restroom.  I observed this not only at my facility but also in just about every public restroom.  Most solutions for this issue involve automation which, costs thousands to install or a complete redesign of the restroom facility, even more costly.  There had to be a better way.

I started discussing the concern and concept of a foot operated door opener with 2 other people with which I work, Ron and Kelly, both of which are engineers.  I've worked with Ron for 16 years and with Kelly for 6 years.  After several months of discussion and many prototypes, we came up the current StepNpull™ design.  Ron came up with the name, StepNpull™.  Kelly provided a majority of the input on the basic design and concept on how it would work best.  Oh, and he also came up with the slogan "Opening doors one step at a time" which I think is brilliant.  We've also discovered there is additional demand for a StepNpull™ on more than just bathroom doors.  It works great in an office or commercial environment when a user may have their hands full and it's not convenient to set the items down to open the door.
